What exactly constitutes a hit and run?
Under Belgian law, hit and run (délit de fuite) means voluntarily leaving the scene of a road accident without identifying yourself, regardless of whether you caused it. Even if you believe you bear no responsibility, you have a legal obligation to stop, identify yourself, and remain at the scene if necessary.
